What do people say after seeing U2Baby?

U2Baby on the Red Carpet at the National Tribute Music Awards 2019

Like U2? SO DO WE! It’s our passion
People often tell us that going to a U2Baby gig is “like going to see the real U2”. But why?
Here’s what Guggi said in 2016 when he saw U2Baby play live at the Church in Dublin.
“I thought U2Baby were amazing! I think I preferred them to U2
and it was easier to get in!"
Guggi, speaking in Hotpress Magazine, 2016
We also asked a regular gig goer and here is what we were told…. (extract from email from Carl Hancox)
MUSICIANSHIP: THE WAY U2BABY PLAY: “Firstly, musicianship and talent, I say this as someone who is not musically trained in any way. To my untrained ear, the way that you guys play, and the way that you sing, is the closest thing to hearing U2 live. It’s as close to being ‘like for like’ with actual U2 that I have heard, and it’s just like being at one of their shows, with the added bonus of being so close.”
PASSION: THE PASSION U2BABY HAVE FOR THE MUSIC: “Passion and effort for the songs : with being able to get so close, it is awesome to see just how much effort the four of you put in to each and every song. That passion really transcends into the audience. As a lead singer, you seem to ‘live’ the song, rather than just sing it.”
CONNECTION: THE CONNECTION U2BABY CREATE: “Connection with us : This may be small thing outside of the music, but all four of you are genuinely great guys who all make an effort to speak to the fans, before and after each gig. It’s such a great way to approach what you do. It brings the band and audience together even more.”
But that’s Carl’s view… now come along, eXPERIENCE the sound, the look and the attitude and tell us what you think.

REVIEWS
"I just wanted to say a few words after being totally blown away by the U2Baby performances at the pre and after show parties, at the amazing Church venue in Dublin in November 2018. Over two days, U2Baby’s performances were that good, my girlfriend and I, actually left U2 at the 3Arena early, to ensure we got back in to the Church in time for the band’s finale. We were not disappointed, the Church was rammed, the atmosphere electric. The band were on fire, “Bono" had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand, at one point, leaving the stage, climbing up on to the bar, raising the Irish tricolor above his head, what a showman. The set list was amazing, both old and new, with some surprises along the way. Attention to detail and their ability in recreating the sound, power and raw emotion of a U2 performance is truly mind blowing. I have been a U2 fan for over 30 years, seeing them 47 times to date, I never thought I would actually leave a U2 concert in Dublin, to go and see a tribute band, but I did. I will never forget the second night in the Church, U2 would have been proud of U2Baby’s performance.”
Terry Want, Norwich, UK
“Seen these guys at The Cavern on 4th April. They are amazing and it is very much like a U2 gig. I’ve been a U2 fan for 30 years and I’ve seen a few tributes but these guys are by far the best I’ve watched. Their set list was marvellous..... old and new mixed together brilliantly. Had a chat with them after the gig and they are
really nice chaps. I’d love to watch Bono and the boys watching these. 10/10”

“These guys are the real deal... play with passion and sound and look like U2. I've seen them twice now. First time I was gobsmacked, second time emotionally! It was a big fan meet up at the Cavern Club in Liverpool and I closed my eyes and thought I was at Wembley again. Amazing band, NOT too be missed! Keep rocking lads.”
Paul “COYB” Roberts, Website Submission

“Been at their pre and afterparty in The Church in Dublin on 06-11. If you don't know you'd really say they are U2! The music, gimmicks. it really seemed they just came from the 3Arena to play another concert in The Church.”
Cees Dool, from Facebook Reviews
“Front man really pulled out all the stops for Dublin 2 in the Church. What a showman. Really had to inspect him to check that it wasn’t actually Bono. The sound and the look is identical”
Shannon Breathnach, Dublin, Ireland

"Went to an 80's tribute festival at Ashton-on-Mersey Rugby Club in Sale. U2Baby were fantastic. They made my husband's night by playing his favourite song Bad. U2Baby are the best U2 tribute band we have seen. They all looked and sounded like the real band. Would definitely see them again."
Samantha Ince Visser, at Manchester's 80sFest 2016
"U2Baby headlined Trib Fest Bahrain 2018 and gave the 5000 strong festival crowd an amazing show that they absolutely loved. The boys really rocked it and the crowd sang along to hit after hit. I've had superb feedback on their set from the attendees. We will 100% be having them back for this and other events in the future."

BOOK The U2 Tribute band that THEY FLY IN TO Dublin when U2 are playing in town!
"U2Baby performed two magnificent shows for us the weekend U2 played Croke Park. They are THE U2 tribute that we fly to Ireland for our major events due to their authenticity, professionalism and absolute attention to detail. The guys are easy to work with and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for the closest tribute to the real thing you can get."

“I thought U2Baby were amazing. I think I prefer them to U2 - and it was much easier to get in!”
Guggi - renowned artist and Bono's best friend since the days of Cedarwood Road
A capacity sold-out crowd of 250 fans, inevitably U2 fans in the main, meet and greet each other like long-lost friends. Much hugging and kissing is entailed, many pleased to see each other once again and all excited on the prospects of an unknown setlist. Rumour is there are new songs on the agenda, ones not previously played by the purveyors of all-things U2, and even songs not played that often by the real thing themselves.
U2Baby recently played an intimate gig at Boyles of Slane in Ireland. They were also fortunate to be able to have a private visit to Slane Castle where they visited the rooms used to record the Unforgettable Fire. Below are a selection of images from the trip. Photos by Richard Peace and where watermarked by Partysnaps.ie
U2 fans at the Church Cafe Bar & Restaurant have really been enjoying the craic this week as they continue to pay homage to the best band on the planet. The #WelcomeToTheNorthside event, which is organised every time Bono, The Edge, Larry and Adam gig in town, is in full swing and you can still take advantage of what is to come until Saturday 10th.
September in Malta is hot hot hot... and humid, but that didn’t stop the crowd getting behind the 90 minute set played by U2Baby at Swieqi Fest 2018.
Following their first visit to the Cavern in October 2017, U2Baby were rebooked to play in early 2018. This show was a complete sell out with 98% of the tickets selling out days before the gig.
An 8000 mile round trip, a 45 minute set and a 5000 strong crowd on the most impressive of stages... that was Tribfest Bahrain.
U2Baby have been selected from the many, many fine U2 tribute bands worldwide to return to The Church in Dublin as part of the U2 Fan Parties which will take place as part of #WelcomeToTheNorthside in November 2018.
U2Baby were honoured to grace the Cavern Club Live Lounge stage on 18th October. From the blistering opening "this is a song Charles Manson stole from the Beatles" Helter Skelter
U2Baby were recently engaged by the Church Cafe Bar and Restaurant to play two shows as part of the U2 fan parties the same weekend as U2 played at Croke Park.
U2Baby were recently engaged by Sporting Club Monaco to play at the world famous Salles des Etoiles (room of the stars) in Monte Carlo.

“Just wanted to say a few words after seeing U2Baby at The Marrs Bar in Worcester this Saturday....Wow ! What an absolutely incredible show (again) ! We have seen them on a few occasions now, and as avid U2 followers, this tribute band ALWAYS deliver a very special performance. The look and sound of this band are perfect. More over, the feeling that they create is second only to U2 themselves, however with this band, you can get so much closer and more personal !They always recreate that high energy and deep emotion that can only be felt by listening to U2’s live music, and they take you on an epic 2 hour journey which you won’t want to miss ! Go and see this fantastic band !”
Jemma Phipps, Facebook Review

"Soaring vocals & quality musicianship combine for an impressive & enjoyable tribute indeed! Eagerly awaiting your US West Coast tour!"
Deborah Perpetua, Washington, USA
"Just watched U2Baby in Aylesbury. What a great set-list, even better than the real thing. Great crowd, great drink and great company. The band? Edge was on fire, and "Bono" was a little pocket dynamo, hit the high notes and did a really beautiful Every Breaking Wave. The drums were tight, the sound mixing was spot on and the whole band seemed to really have a great time. I've seen a few U2 tribute bands over the years and these guys were by far the best, by a long shot. If you get the chance, go see them, I'd go again."
Mark Leddie, posted on Facebook after Shootpool Aylesbury 2017
"So glad we came, we had a brilliant night, my voice has gone this morning! You guys are so talented. Will definitely be seeing you perform again. My David said he felt like he'd just been to an intimate gig with U2 for fifteen quid."
Karen Chisman following Norden Farm Centre for the Arts
"I am the most loyal and longest serving u2 fan ever. I've seen them over 65 times! I know every song, every lyric... I never ever thought you could get a tribute that sounds so much like Bono and the band. Absolutely brilliant :)). Made my day."
Andrea G, Maidenhead, UK
''I've heard of U2Baby long before I actually got to see them live. And I have to say, I was blown away! If you need a little U2 fix, during this withdrawal period, I highly suggest you go see this band. Besides (freakishly!) reminding of U2 in looks, they sound great, too! During the gigs at the Church Pub, they took us back to the Innocence+Experience tour instantly, by playing the well known setlist, as well as some major surprises. The audience responded so well- they seemed to have such easiness to them and they connected with fans immediately. I will definitely go see them the first chance I get!''
Amra (who Bono christend Miss Sarajevo) - who has been on stage multiple times with U2
"Your band is f*&^*@g awesome."
Trish Weedon who has been on stage twice with U2 on the Innocence to Experience tour 2015
"I watched, I listened, I shed a few happy tears, I sang along and danced. At times their performance was so powerful it was like watching the real deal all those years ago. Only two bands have ever caused me to feel such raw powerful emotion. One is U2 & the other is U2Baby. When a performance grabs you heart and soul and causes your emotions to leak uncontrollably from your eyes you know they're damned good!"
Lissy - Worcester
"It was a real pleasure to mix these guys. Using their stand alone system for in ear monitoring, they sent me 6 channels + drums to mix. With no monitoring send needed, FOH was a real pleasure to mix. The technology used by U2Baby made my job real simple. Their hard work and technical know how made for an easy and proficient mix! Well done guys! It was a perfect formula - keep it up!!"
Brendan McGreal, CornishUnderGround
"Loved your band and your technical knowledge and show rig made it a whole lot easier for my sound team. Great working with a bunch of professional musicians who are also nice blokes to boot. See you on the next one mate!"
Mike Fogg, Manchester PA Hire (www.manchesterpa.co.uk)
"U2Baby played The Tap on the Sunday night of May Day Bank Holiday weekend and went down a storm. Very authentic sound which pulled in a great crowd who loved every second. Can't wait to get them in again."
Matt Heritage, The Brewery Tap Abingdon Oxfordshire
"We had U2Baby perform a 45 minute set at our event in September at the Compleat Angler in Marlow in aid of the Longridge Activity Centre. The guys not only scarily looked the part but were pitch perfect and we were really pleased with the addition they made to the event. The guys were professional, capable and self sufficient. From an organisers point of view they were fantastic as we had already met at the venue a month before and knew where they were going to be set up, so they didn't need any hand-holding or guidance from us on the day, which made things so much easier. As a team we would definately recommend U2Baby for any event."
Simon Branney, Event Organiser
"The U2Baby duo helped us out by standing in at last minute to headline Thrupp Live - they played a blinding one hour set of all the best known U2 songs and looked and sounded just like Bono and the Edge."
Tom Clark . TAD Studios
"I booked U2Baby - a U2 tribute act - for a music & beer festival called Stonesfield Septembeerfest. In short they absolutely nailed it. The crowd loved them. If Bono and Edge had showed up I don't think it would have sounded any better. Brilliant performance guys. Together with Brendan McGreal awesome sound engineering it sounded fantastic out front."
Chris Bartle, Music Organiser, Stonesfield Septembeerfest
